Jordan Step 0 (2023)

JORDAN  (Orkla Health)

The Jordan Step 0 teether is essentially a toothbrush for babies before they have teeth.
Instead of bristles, the head of the brush is covered with soft rubber tips, mimicking teeth that are just about to break out.

The playful shape is easy to grip, and features various textures that create sensory experiences for the tiniest users.

Gentle relief. Thoughtful design.

When we created the Jordan Step 0, our ambition was to design a baby’s very first oral‑care tool with the same care and intention we bring to every product: gentle, intuitive, and shaped entirely around the needs of the smallest users. We wanted to rethink what a “first toothbrush” could be — not a scaled‑down adult object, but something born from a baby’s world.

The form grew from observing how newborns explore with their hands and mouths. Instead of bristles, we developed a head covered in soft rubber tips, inspired by the sensation of tiny teeth just about to emerge. The playful, rounded silhouette invites natural gripping, while the varied textures offer small sensory discoveries that support early development. Every surface is purposeful, every curve considered.

Material choice was equally important. We selected soft, BPA‑free components that feel safe and calming against tender gums, while ensuring the entire product is easy to clean and durable enough for daily use. The ergonomic ring shape gives babies a secure hold and gives parents peace of mind — a balance of comfort, safety, and Scandinavian simplicity.

For us, Step 0 is more than a teether or a training toothbrush. It’s a gentle introduction to lifelong oral care, crafted with empathy for the earliest months of life. A small object, designed with big intention.

“We designed Jordan Step 0 to give babies the gentlest possible start to oral care. Every curve, texture, and material choice is shaped around tiny hands and tender gums, creating a safe, sensory‑rich introduction to brushing. It’s a small object with a big purpose — crafted to support healthy habits from the very first months of life.”
