Wilfa
The Wilfa Zense is designed to be an archetypal coffee maker. The silhouette has been reduced almost to a schematic depiction of the brewing process.
The design aims to be timeless and universal, both in its usability and its visual identity. The detachable water tank and the simple user interfaces make for intuitive and practical usage, while the deliberate shapes and carefully crafted details create a pleasant and easily likable appearance.
When we set out to create Wilfa Zense, our goal was to capture the pure essence of coffee brewing in a single, calm expression. We reduced the silhouette to its most essential form — an archetype that feels instantly familiar, almost inevitable. By stripping away visual noise, we allowed the core elements of the brewing ritual to speak for themselves: water, heat, and extraction, translated into a design that is both timeless and unmistakably Nordic.
Functionality guided every design decision. The detachable water tank, the intuitive controls, and the balanced proportions were all shaped to make daily use effortless and natural. We wanted Zense to feel honest — a tool that supports the brewing ritual without demanding attention. Every surface, angle, and material choice was refined to create a quiet presence that fits seamlessly into the home.
Inside, Zense is engineered for taste. Fresh‑water brewing, stable temperature control, and even extraction work together to deliver a clean, balanced cup, approved by the European Coffee Brewing Centre. For us, Zense is a tribute to Scandinavian simplicity: a thoughtful, understated object designed to let the true flavor of coffee shine.
