Luxo Nordic Collection has been awarded a Red Dot Design award for 2021.
When we created the Luxo Nordic Collection, our ambition was to design a family of decorative luminaires that captures the essence of Scandinavian nature while delivering professional‑grade lighting performance. Built around an advanced light engine with high‑quality LED sources and drivers, the collection was conceived as a system — a unified core expressed through multiple forms, each inspired by a different natural phenomenon. This approach allowed us to combine technical excellence with a poetic, nature‑driven design language.
Each pendant interprets a distinct element of the Nordic landscape. SVA draws from the rugged, weathered rock formations along the coastline, balancing rawness with elegance. ELV reflects the shifting, mirror‑like qualities of running water, revealing a soft inner glow when lit. SNØ captures the gentle quietness of fresh snowfall, its semi‑transparent dome creating a floating, diffused light. DIS is shaped by the calm of early‑morning mist, its organic curvature and frosted glass producing a soft, growing luminosity. Together, these pieces form a cohesive visual narrative rooted in material honesty and natural atmosphere.
Our goal was to create luminaires that feel both sculptural and functional — objects that elevate architectural spaces while remaining grounded in everyday use. By combining traditional glass‑forming techniques with modern LED technology, each piece carries its own unique character while maintaining a shared identity. The Nordic Collection is our tribute to the landscapes that define the North: calm, elemental, and quietly powerful.
